Projects Continued

Here is the second project my fiancée and I worked on this weekend. We built a sort of wall/border around the banana trees in our backyard using glass bottles, some of our own clay soil and a little bit of concrete all mixed with water. We were inspired by the Earthship homes which are the brain child of renegade architect Michael Reynolds. This was our first almost 0 impact projects we intend on expanding in our new/future home. We are trying to become as off the grid as possible and thus we will be attending the Green Festival up in San Francisco in November to get more ideas and to see what companies are doing out there.

A House Growing out of a Home

I love this idea of the super minimalist design with a vintage flair of the old house serving as the platform for the new.
