So we've started to go hiking and will try to keep this up on a normal basis. It's a great feeling to get out of the city and to catch some fresh air and to reconnect with nature. Since I live by the ocean we have to drive to the mountains. Luckily in Southern California the mountains are less than an hour away in the Pasadena, Sierra Madre and Alta Dena areas. It's is actually surprising how many hiking areas there are in Southern California. I just did a Google search for hiking in Orange County and was quickly able to find many trails to choose from. We decided to go to Millard Canyon again as the first spot in Santa Anita canyon was jammed packed with people and no parking spots. Here are some photos from our hike.
This is the way to the waterfall. Which was unfortunately closed after the fires in this area this past year.
Lots of great shadows for cool photo ops
The lovely little stream we followed
Some antlers at one of the cabins surrounding the trail
