DIY BOUTONNIERES

I wanted to share another DIY wedding project of mine. I knew that when it came to the boutonnieres for the groom, the fathers and the groomsmen that I would be making these myself.

After doing some research from some great wedding blogs and sites such as 100 Layer Cake, Ruffled, Once Wed and Project Wedding. I pretty much had an idea of how I would craft these boutonnieres.

After a trip to the Long Beach Antique Flea Market I was able to purchase a few beginning ingredients to the perfect boutonnieres in my eyes. I found some vintage velvet leaves and japanese white paper flowers from one of my favorite vendors there. She sells vintage lace, ribbon and flowers from the victorian era and from the 1920's and 1930's. Some of her stuff is a bit pricey but it was worth every penny.

The last and final details were the silver charms that are fastened to each boutonniere. Since there are 11 groomsmen I wanted these to stand out and reflect a character trait of each gentelman. I found all the silver charms from CharmFactory.com.

So here are a few of the pieces, I just completed the last 5 for my brothers last night.I hope this inspires some of you to get creative and make something with your own two hands. In the end it is worth the time and effort and you can save a little bit of money too (sometimes).
